Insanity

In this land of the burning,
I have lost my mind.
No hope of returning.
It's insanity that I find.

Something warm tries to touch me.
Though my heart is frozen shut.
Nothing can ever reach me,
It's insanity uncut.

I'm on my own in this journey,
This walk along the knife .
Can I ever recover my sanity?
It's insanity for life.

The heat spills over all around,
Runs up to my feet.
Louder comes the sound,
It's insanity's elite!

Sitting here, cold and alone,
No warmth now near,
Heart now turned to stone.
It's insanity now fear.

One last unheard scream,
Lost all of esprit,
One dead, torn, broken dream.
It's insanity free.
